Acknowledgments
In 2011, I was fortunate to discover the existence of a manuscript copied by Dastōr Rustam son of Dastōr Jāmāsp in 1139 A.Y. It was part of the collection of manuscripts appertained once to Ervad Tahmuras Dinshaw Anklesaria (TD 26); and now, after being restored, is preserved in the library of the K. R. Cama Oriental Institute, Mumbai (KRC No-641). Shortly after having gone through the manuscript, I gave a short description of the contents along with the transcription and translation of two texts of it. Meanwhile, I published one other text, the Vīrāzagān, in a separate book.
This codex contains a number of unknown texts that are important and interesting from various points of view. Unfortunately, the manuscript has been very much injured by worms or moths and damaged by damp, some of folios are missing; and even if we should be thankful to Dastōr Rustam for having transmitted this treasure to us, we cannot fail to notice his neglectful carelessness.
In this edition, I have followed the manner of copying of Dastōr Rustam to the letter; and only when an emendation of a word is necessary, I correct it in a footnote or in parentheses; and when the reading of a word is difficult, I endeavour to give a hypothetical transcription.
